I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving again! My turkey is thawing, my nice dishes are pulled out of the cabinet, and my hiking boots are ready for the #optoutside hike that I’m hosting on Black Friday. And most importantly, I’ve got a heart full of gratitude towards so many things in my life.
I’m thankful that I moved to Alaska.
I’m thankful for snowy winters.
I’m thankful for tall mountains that end in fjords.
I’m thankful for glaciers and ice fields and the trails that lead me to these gorgeous places.
I’m thankful for skis and snowshoes and kayaks and bikes.
I’m thankful for trails that lead to mountaintops and remote campsites and valley floors and cabins.
I’m thankful for my dog and my husband and all the other people that love to go on adventures with me.
And finally, I’m thankful for hiking. It’s my favorite thing. I love how it feels to make it to new heights and gorgeous destinations on my own two feet.
What are you thankful for this year? What are your #optoutside plans?
I love seeing your pictures of Alaska. They are beautiful. I need to get there someday.

These are incredible photos! I have a lot to be grateful for – I’m grateful for my husband, who is so good to me and adventures with me. I’m grateful to have a job that helps me pay the bills, and I’m grateful to have a healthy body to do all these awesome things with!
Yes! Thankful for all of these things as well! Especially the healthy body. I’ve had some really tough experiences with injury and I’m so glad that I’m able to get outside without pain now!
I’m thankful to have discovered your blog so I can see all of the beautiful photos of Alaska! Oh, and my health and family too!😀
Haha thank you so much! I’m so thankful for this blog and all the bloggers I get to meet!
