Hi everyone! It’s Monday again, and instead of thinking about a week of work ahead (blah) I’m thinking about my past week of workouts. We had some pretty awesome fall weather here in Alaska, and I was able to spend lots of time outdoors doing my favorite things!
Monday: Off day
Tuesday: My epic bike ride around Anchorage – check it out here!
Wednesday: I took Ridley to the dog park for a long walk, and got a few minutes of trail running done in the process.
Thursday: I had a sick day, but managed to get out for a super lazy kayaking trip with my friend. Being outside is the best medicine!
Friday: We walked Ridley for a few miles on the Coastal Trail and saw a few moose in the process!
Saturday: Despite the fact that it was chilly and overcast, I went hiking with a friend. We tried a new trail up to the Dome, a small mountain on the edge of East Anchorage. I’ve never hiked on that side of town before and I loved the view! I didn’t love how steep the trail was though – there were definitely lots of stops on the way up to catch my breath, and a few terrifying moments on the way down! But it was a nice 5 mile hike that I’d definitely do again, and I loved that the trail kept going to lots of other, bigger mountains to explore.
Sunday: I was feeling pretty lazy, but I did spend an hour or so kayaking around DeLong Lake in Anchorage. With a PSL. Because it’s fall and it’s cold and I’m basic.
I didn’t exactly meet my fall weekly workout goals – no swimming or yoga happened – but it’s because those are indoor workouts and I can’t stand being indoors during these last few weeks of real sunlight. Next week is supposed to be sunny as well, and I’m so looking forward to more biking, hiking, and kayaking all week long!
