Hi everyone! In honor of the next upcoming holiday and to distract myself from getting too excited about Christmas too early, I’ve decided to spend each Thursday in November focusing on things I’m thankful for. I’m going to challenge myself to list 10 new things each week. Can I do it? Let’s find out!
This week I’m thankful for:
- My North Face Khumbu fleece. it’s so warm and cozy that I’m still not wearing a coat because it’s good enough on it’s own.
- My job. It’s awesome and I had the best lesson ever with a notoriously tough group on Tuesday that made me so happy. Yay for good teaching days!
- Daylight savings time. It’s now light out again when I go to work (well, barely!)
- Coffee. No explanation needed.
- Skinny Pop Popcorn. If you’ve never had it, go buy some NOW.
- My short commute to and from work. 8 minutes!
- The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. I get to run along Cook Inlet with beautiful mountain and city views and sounds of the waves next to me. It’s seriously the best place to run!
- Break and bake cookies. Zero prep time and fresh cookies whenever. Kind of bad, but oh so good.
- Pumpkin scented candles
- And last but certainly not least, my husband! He’s pretty cool 🙂
Throwback! This is one of my favorite moments – finally making it to Seward after 9 days of driving! We were so happy and tired!
I’m also going to challenge myself to find one thing about running that I’m thankful for each week. This week’s thing is the beautiful views that I have while running. Like I said in my Rave Runs post, any run is going to be hard and sweaty no matter where it is. But when you’re in a beautiful place it can definitely help get you through some tough moments.
What are you thankful for this week? Do we share any things that we’re thankful for right now?
I love this! I think I may start posting one thing I’m thankful for each day on Twitter. Thanks for the idea!
Awww yay that sounds like fun! I know from past experience I can’t commit to doing anything every day for any amount of time, but I figured I could manage this.
Yeah, we’ll see if I can actually keep up, haha!
We are sharing the thankfulness for coffee! I’m also thankful that you keep up with this wonderful blog, because I highly enjoy reading it! so, Thank YOU!
OMG thank you! Sometimes I feel like no one would want to read this stuff but I post it anyways. It’s good to know that someone actually enjoys it!
I’ve never heard of skinny pop popcorn. I’m going to have to look for that!
It’s so good! They have it at Costco in the massive size if you’ve got a membership 🙂 If not, I just got it at Safeway!
I keep seeing that popcorn in the store – what makes it so special? I always think, its just gotta taste like regular popcorn… right? give me the low down
It’s so good! The only ingredients are salt and sunflower oil. Somehow I think it’s better than buttered popcorn which is bold for me to say! Warning: every time I buy it we eat the whole thing in like 3 days.
Wow an 8 minute commute is awesome! I love the idea of finding new things to be thankful for each week all month long! Along the lines of coffee, I’m thankful for tea. I’ve been sucking it down at work lately- can’t get enough of the caffeine. If it’s from tea, that’s healthy, right? 😉
I’m thankful for my flexible hours at work, letting me get whatever workout I need in, at what time works best for me 🙂
I love my commute! It used to take me FOREVER to get anywhere in Philly! Also, the things you are thankful for are awesome. My job is semi-flexible (I can start and end whenever I want) so I’ve been leaving earlier this week so I can run with the daylight savings time change. Yay for awesome jobs!
Uhhhh I must try Skinny Pop Popcorn. Never heard of it!
It’s so good! I’m picky when it comes to popcorn but it’s seriously the best!
An 8 minute commute? I would love to have a commute like that! I’m beyond thankful when traffic allows me to get to work in only 20 minutes and home in only 30 (which is a rare occasion!).
This is one of the big reasons I moved – my long commute was driving me nuts! Hopefully traffic is light this week!
Awesome! I might have to copy you a little on this idea 😉
Right this second, I’m thankful for my crock pot that made the delicious chilli I’m having for lunch!
Do it! And that sounds really yummy. I need to use my crock pot more!
COFFEE, especially after a long run. I enjoy reading about Alaska!
