My Christmas Running Wish List – Giveaway Alert!

Hey everyone!  This snowy weather in Philly is really putting me in the Christmas spirit!  And I’m not going to lie, most of my Christmas list is filled with running items.  Now that I’m running longer, doing more races, and running outside in all sorts of weather I need a few more running items to make my runs absolutely perfect.  And because I’ve done a ton of research on the items that I want to ask Santa to bring me, I wanted to share my list with you!  Here are my top picks for any runner:

Cold Weather Gear:

The Buff:  This item can be used in at least 13 different ways to keep you comfortable on your run!  I would most likely use this as a scarf/face mask for winter running, but it’s versatile enough to be used to keep you cool in the summer too!  And it comes in a million different colors and patterns!

Brooks Infiniti Headband:  Everyone needs a running headband in the winter to keep your ears warm, and this one is super cute and functional!  This cold weather headband is made with moisture-wicking fabric with a fleece liner.  The headband comes in tons of colors to match every running outfit you could wear.  It should be a winter running staple in your wardrobe – you can never have too many running headbands!  I personally can’t be outside in the winter if my ears aren’t covered so this is definitely at the top of my Christmas list!

Nike Women’s Thermal Tech Gloves:  As anyone who regularly reads my blog already knows, I am on a serious hunt for some good running gloves.  After reading tons of reviews and consulting a list of Runner’s World top picks, I decided to put the Nike Women’s Thermal Tech Gloves on my list!  They are made of warm fleece and have a water and wind resistant layer on the back of your hand to fight the elements.  Plus they have a hidden key pocket in the palm!

Brooks Adrenaline ASR 10 GTX Trail Shoes:  Although I have a pair of Yaktrax Run to strap onto my current running shoes, I will still have difficulty running in snowy/wet conditions.  The Brooks Adrenaline ASR 10 GTX trail shoes are the perfect solution for anyone who needs to get that wet, cold run done!  I’m that girl who says “I can’t run in this weather, I’ll ruin my expensive shoes!” but there is no amount of rain or snow that can ruin these!  Plus, they’re kind of cute and have stability!  Win.

Gear Packs:

The Flip Belt:  I’ve been looking for a cute, non-bouncy gear belt for a while, and I think I’ve finally found it!  This belt is one continuous loop with 4 openings for storing all your gear.  It comes in a bunch of colors, is machine washable, and best of all it doesn’t look like a fanny pack!  This would be perfect for races or other times when you don’t need to carry water.

The Roo Sport:  This could possibly be the most genius invention ever!  It’s a pouch that folds over the waist band of your pants and stays in place with high powered magnets.  Even though I’m dying for the Flip Belt, this little pouch is cheaper yet big enough for my iPhone, car key, and ID!  It’s non bouncy and so tiny that people say they forget they’re wearing it!  If you don’t need water/gels for your run, this is a great option!

Reading Material:

Runner’s World Magazine:  I subscribed to this magazine last January and I loved finding it in my mailbox each month!  They’ve got great tips on gear and advice on training that really helped me during my first year of running.  I love reading The Newbie Chronicles because I can totally relate!

Runner’s World Cookbook:  Sometimes I’m not sure what to eat before a run to boost performance or after a run to maximize recovery.  The Runner’s World Cookbook solves this problem!  Each recipe specifies if it is good for recovery, low cal, easy to make, etc. and the recipes sound so yummy!  I need to get better at fueling myself for running so I was so excited to find this cookbook!

Fun Stuff:

I Run For Donuts Tank:  I literally do run just to burn off donut calories!  Possibly the best tank ever.  The Etsy shop also has shirts that share the other reasons why you might run (cupcakes, bacon, etc.).

Foot Rubz Massage Ball:  I blogged last week about how my foam roller is my bff, so if you don’t have a foam roller that should be at the top of your Christmas list!  But since I’m already massaging my legs every day I’m looking for even more products to make my body feel better post-run.  This little massage ball promises to make your feet feel amazing after a run.  Who doesn’t want a foot massage after logging some miles?

A Race Entry:  Every runner hates shelling out money for races, but they love participating in them!  Help your favorite runner out by taking care of the registration fees for them!  I’m currently debating signing up for the Love Run half marathon in Philly next spring – who wants to sign me up?

Running Fuel:  I’m going to need to start experimenting with fuel soon, so I’d love a stocking filled with various types of fuel to try!  I’ve been eyeing some Nuun hydration tabs but I also want to try some gels and chews!  Some suggestions of your favorites would be super helpful!

You can see the rest of my Christmas wish list here!  Santa, pleeeeease bring me that North Face Parka!

    1. Me too! I didn’t put any clothing items on my list since I like being able to try that kind of stuff on and buy it myself. But those are on my to-buy-list for sure!

  1. Congrats on your first giveaway, my friend!!! I love this headband & would love to win one 🙂 A garmin watch is on my list this year!!!

    1. I think that sounds like a good idea! My husband usually gives me Groupons for fun stuff for us to do together and those are always my favorite gifts!

    1. I’ve been stocking up at TJ Maxx/Marshalls, if you have one near you then you need to check out their workout gear! Brand name stuff is so cheap there!

  2. LOVE that headband!! I could really use something like that with this nasty weather we’ve been having. My big ticket item for Christmas this year is my shoes and I should have those by tomorrow!!

    1. Yay! Where are you in PA? Are you hoping for a snow day tomorrow too? And I’m with you, I love surprises and never seem to get them! My husband always either leaves a confirmation email for something he bought me up on the computer (like I open it and it’s there) or he forgets to clear the history on the computer. I don’t even try to snoop but he’s so obvious that I always accidentally find out. I hope this year is different!

  3. Oh I’d love another headband! This running streak has me using my 1 and only headband 3 days in a row every Friday – Sunday {eww}. I suppose I found the blessing of using the treadmill the other 4 days of the week…
Also love that tank, though I’m partial to cupcakes myself 😉

    1. I’m doing the same thing! I don’t judge, this running streak is making me reuse a few running things (sorry if that’s gross, but I figure it’s just gloves and a headband so it’s not like it’s underwear or anything). I am going to buy this headband if Santa doesn’t bring me one!

    1. Not boring at all! A few years ago I asked for a waffle maker and when my dad gave one to me I was so excited that I ran around the living room screaming. Food is my favorite thing ever so I’m partial to kitchen gifts 🙂

    1. OH MY GOD WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I am having a heart attack right now! Are you volunteering? How do you get the free entry? It’s prompting me to email…do you just email and ask for it? This is blowing my mind because I don’t have $85 to spend on this right now! I will do anything for a free entry!

And now that I’ve calmed down a bit, I’m glad we both are asking for the same things! Today my very last issue of Runner’s World (from my current subscription) came in the mail and there were directions on how to reorder. My husband was like “I’m going to keep this…for no reason…don’t mind me” and I couldn’t help but laugh. I guess I’m getting another year for Christmas!

      1. I actually just found out that program this weekend and had already registered. (next time!) Michelle is the person the email link takes you to I have met her, and she is really nice. Just tell her you are interested in the program to volunteer for a free race entry. It is going to be great!

  4. 97 percent of my Christmas list was running related. Mostly winter gear! My husband got me a Garmin for my birthday (which is only 9 days before Christmas) so I’m super excited about that! He actually told me I had to redo my list and put some non running related items on!

    1. Haha my list is the same way! If you click the link to my actual Christmas wish list, I’ve got a North Face parka, some Duck Dynasty stuff, and a book. So it looks like this will be a super running-filled Christmas for me! And I see nothing wrong with that!

  5. There are so many things on my running Christmas list, but if I had to pick one thing, I would say the New Balance Hi-Viz jacket. It’s pricy, but it glows in the dark!

    1. Whoa that sounds awesome! Christmas lists are for expensive presents that you wouldn’t buy yourself, so I support that! I hope you get it!

    1. I LOOOOVE my foam roller! I’m now picturing you finding a foam roller shaped present wrapped under the tree and having to pretend that you don’t know what it is 🙂

    1. Yep, same here. I’ve been searching TJ Maxx and Marshalls for weeks with no luck! The ones above are on sale at Running Warehouse for $21 so I’m hoping Santa will jump on that deal!

    1. Nice! I hope you get that new stove and washer! Those are definitely more of a necessity than some of the stuff on my list!

    1. I have hot pink Pro Compression socks and I totally recommend them! They have awesome Christmas ones out now that I’m drooling over. But they’re too expensive to buy for just one holiday, you know?

    1. Nice! I used to work at Yankee Candle and I have to recommend all their candles. I have so many but my favorite is Apple Pumpkin!
