Hey everyone! I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday! My Wednesday Wisdom today doesn’t technically have to do with running, but I think the tips in this article can be applied to your entire life. It’s this Huffington Post article that’s been going around facebook recently. The main point of this article is that really only one thing in life can make us happy – and that one thing is ourselves. The author gives tips on what we can do to stop being unhappy and realize our lives are awesome (I love #7 and don’t do it nearly enough!). I couldn’t help but think of how much this relates to running as I was reading it. For all the complaining I do – I’m too tired, I’m too slow, my expensive Garmin was incorrect and made me run farther than I needed to – in the end, it’s such a blessing to even be able to run at all. Add in the fact that I run in a beautiful , safe state park , that I own amazing new Minuzos, and that I even could afford that Garmin watch in the first place means I should be jumping around with happiness every time I run. Definitely read the article, it’ll get you to look at things differently!
In other news, this Wednesday is the last Wednesday that Team Scoot A Doot will wear yellow in the Million Mile Run for Alex’s Lemonade Stand! Luckily the challenge is still going on until Monday, but as of now I’ve run 27 miles! I’m excited to be able to help bring awareness to such a great cause! I also loved knowing how many miles I ran in one month, and I think I’m going to keep track from now on! It’s awesome to see those miles add up! I also wore yellow today, but of course I forgot to take a picture of it.

I do get annoyed when I haven’t had a great run but my boyfriend always says the same thing: ‘there’s people in the world that can’t run at all’ and that puts it in perspective. I love running because of the exploring element. I always want to see where that trail goes! You get to find some great places that no one else really sees 🙂
Me too! I hike too, so with both running and hiking I always want to keep going until the end of a trail, just to see what’s at the end. It drives my husband crazy sometimes!

I’m totally guilty of taking running (among other things) for granted. Especially after a rough workout.
#5 is a great reminder too- I get anxiety over the craziest things simply because I let myself imagine the worst possible outcome of everything. What a waste of time!
I do the same thing! I’m always stressing myself out over problems that might not even happen. I’m trying to get better at it but it’s tough!
