Weekend Recap

Hey everyone!  I can’t believe the weekend is over already!  I had a great weekend camping at Worlds End State Park. It ended up being rainy which made hiking difficult but we still had a blast! If you’re ever near Worlds End you should check it out, it’s such a pretty park!

On Saturday we hiked around Eagles Mere Lake. This used to be my favorite hike as a kid because the scenery and trail surface changes a lot and it has awesome views of the lake.

We got to climb on/around big rocks for part of it!

Hiking is probably my favorite kind of workout because it gives me a chance to see really pretty places!  This trail was nice and flat, but we had to climb on rocks and tree roots a lot so it took a while.  After hiking for a few hours we went back to camp and finally got to relax!

It rained all night and most of the morning, which cancelled our plans to hike Ricketts Glenn. We decided to drive up to Canyon Vista which is my favorite view in PA.

We also spent about an hour walking along the Loyalsock Creek. It was slippery from the rain but we were able to walk out pretty far from the road.  Andrew likes to skip stones along here so it was his favorite part!

My big goal for this trip was to stay away from the usual camping junk food. I’ve been doing really well with my September goals so far, and I didn’t want this trip to derail it. So instead of bringing Oreos, barbecue chips, and stuff to make smores, I packed carrots and peanut butter, granola bars, and fruit. We had French toast for brunch today, but I was able to control myself and only eat half of my portion. And I can definitely tell I got enough exercise, my thighs and booty are killing me! Hiking definitely works different muscles than running because of all the climbing and scrambling over rocks!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun for your workouts?
